Rescuers spent the day yesterday freeing a dolphin that was is a small creek in Middle Township.

The Press of Atlantic City reports that the adult male dolphin - about 7 feet long - was first sighted in a creek off West Hand Avenue Saturday night.

Rescuers from the Marine Mammal Stranding Center in Brigantine had to wait until daylight Sunday morning to rescue the dolphin. It was eventually released into the Delaware Bay Sunday evening.
