Serious Problems With Atlantic City, NJ, Mayor and Developers
You would think that with how bad things are currently going in Atlantic City, New Jersey these days under Mayor Marty Smalls’ mismanagement ... that the Small administration would be rolling-out the “red carpet” to provide a proper level of service to interested developers.
According to sources that we have interviewed, this has not been happening. To the contrary, developers, who are willing to risk their financial capital to invest in Atlantic City during these bad times, have been given a hard time from the Small administration and the Atlantic City Building Department.
The state of New Jersey has had to intervene and they have been ordering the Small administration to issue permits that have been unjustly withheld from developers.
We have also learned about a letter that was sent to New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy, exposing the deplorable situation.

It's really hard to have a boardwalk, beach and Atlantic Ocean as your pristine backdrop and fail in the manner that Atlantic City is doing at this time.
It’s not complicated. Building permits in Atlantic City are being delayed or denied, without proper justification.
Developers are losing precious time and forced to spend more money under the current conditions that they are facing in Atlantic City.
There are developers who have met all safety and code requirements, yet they continue to face delays in trying to do business in Atlantic City.
The state is involved and developers are starting to receive their permits … but, only following protracted appeal processes and direct state intervention.
Some believe that the present difficulties in Atlantic City are a result of a lack of understanding regarding UCC codes.
Others believe that there is a corrupt, nefarious root cause.
As Atlantic City goes … so goes the state of New Jersey.
The current situation in Atlantic City can not be allowed to continue.
The state of New Jersey should temporarily takeover the day-to-day operations of the building and permit departments in Atlantic City until further notice.
The Small administration is destroying any desire for developers to invest in Atlantic City because of the unnecessary difficulties that they have been experiencing since Small became Atlantic City Mayor.
