Atlantic County Sheriff candidate Joe O’Donoghue was present last evening at an Atlantic City Chapter of the NAACP candidate’s forum.

Atlantic County Sheriff Eric Scheffler did not attend.

According to O’Donoghue and Atlantic City NAACP President Kaleem Shabazz, Scheffler has missed attending this candidate’s event as “a no show, no call” for the second time.

We interviewed O’Donoghue last night, who said:

No Show Scheffler. Just like he's absent from his office, he's absent from his delegated duty and responsibilities, absent from his constitutional purpose, absent from his post … an absence from the NAACP forum. He's taking your vote for granted don't let that happen, said O’Donoghue.

We also spoke with an O’Donoghue campaign staff member last night who said that, “Scheffler is trying to run the “Basement Joe Biden Campaign.”

O’Donoghue has challenged Scheffler to debate him throughout the campaign. Scheffler has not agreed to debate O’Donoghue.

O’Donoghue has been highly critical of Scheffler for not prioritizing the core police functions in favor of focusing his prime attention to social services agenda.

The O’Donoghue staff Mem her further stated that “Kaleem Shabazz gave Eric Scheffler a second chance after he did not show up for the debates last week and rescheduled for today. He knew about it and didn't even bother to call or show. They could only interview Joe.”

The no show was also disrespectful as the event was being broadcast in real time.

Regarding the General Election between Scheffler & O’Donoghue, early voting is presently underway and election day is Tuesday, November 7, 2023.

This is a rematch between Scheffler and O’Donoghue from 3 years ago in 2020.
