We have learned that the Atlantic City, New Jersey Board of Education will hold a special meeting on Thursday, May 9, 2024 to discuss “personnel matters.”

The district remains tight lipped with regards to who they will be speaking about at this special meeting.

Conventional wisdom seems to point to La’Quetta Small, the Atlantic City Superintendent of Public Schools.

La’Quetta Small has been charged with serious child abuse criminal offenses (so has Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small and Atlantic City High School Principal Constance Days-Chapman) by the Atlantic County, prosecutors office, including:

LA'QUETTA SMALL is criminally charged with:

  • 2nd degree endangering the welfare of a child.
  • 3 separate counts of disorderly persons simple assault.

Most people are shocked that La’Quetta Small has not been suspended as yet.

The presumption of innocence is the bedrock of our judicial system and La’Quetta Smal is entitled to it.

Yet, whenever a teacher, principal, superintendent, or, anyone with direct pupil contact is charged with serious child abuse criminal charges, the staff member is always suspended … pending the outcome of the criminal charges.

MARTY SMALL is criminally charged with:

  • 2nd degree endangering the welfare of a child.
  • 3rd degree aggravated assault
  • 3rd degree terroristic threats
  • disorderly persons simple assault.

CONSTANCE DAYS-CHAPMAN is criminally charged with:

  • second-degree Official Misconduct.
  • third-degree Hindering Apprehension of
  • Another.
  • fourth-degree Obstruction of Justice.
  • disorderly persons Failure to Report Child Abuse.

Days-Chapman was promptly suspended following these serious criminal charges.

To date, La’Quetta Small has not commented publicly about her criminal charges.

The Atlantic City Board of Education has also  or addressed the La’Quetta Small criminal charges.

The state of New Jersey has shocked everyone by publicly stating that they will not take any action against La’Quetta Small until both the Marty and La’Quetta Small criminal charges are adjudicated.

That may all change this Thursday at the Atlantic City Board of Education special meeting.
