A Spirit Airlines flight reportedly made an emergency landing at Atlantic City International Airport early Friday morning after the crew reported a burning odor in the cockpit.
A statement from the FAA, obtained by the Townsquare News Network, said,
Spirit Airlines Flight 1035, an Airbus A319, landed safely at Atlantic City International Airport about 3 a.m. after the crew reported a burning odor in the cockpit and declared an emergency. The flight departed Newark Liberty International Airport...when it diverted. The FAA will investigate.
A plot of the flight's path by flightaware.com shows the plane turned around and made the landing at ACY.
As of mid-morning, Spirit Airlines had not returned an e-mail seeking a comment. No injuries were reported.
