Three people were arrested for robbery in North Wildwood early Thursday morning.

According to authorities, a North Wildwood police officer was on patrol near the 400 block of East 24th Avenue around 3:30AM when he heard someone yelling for help. The victim told the officer he was just robbed by three men after being threatened with a baseball bat.

Within minutes, officers located the three suspects on the 400 block of East Poplar Avenue in Wildwood; the baseball bat that was used in the robbery was recovered.

18-year-old Jonathan Santiago of Freehold was arrested and charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, aggravated assault, employing a juvenile in the commission of a crime, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon. He was transported to the Cape May County Correctional Center on a warrant for these charges.

The second and third suspects, a 17-year-old from Villas and another 17-year-old from Wildwood, were arrested and charged with robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery. They were both taken to a juvenile detention facility.
