Three Vehicle Crash in Mays Landing Injures One Person

A Mays Landing man was injured in a three-vehicle crash Thursday morning.

Hamilton Township Police say they responded to Route 40 at Meadowbrook Drive around 7:00 Thursday morning. A preliminary investigation revealed a car being driven by 61-year-old Mark Fonte of Mays Landing was making a left turn onto Route 40 from Meadowbrook Drive when he collided with a pickup truck being driven by 60-year-old Pascual Mazzeo of Egg Harbor Township. After the initial impact, Fonte’s vehicle was pushed into the eastbound lane and collided with a car being driven by 45-year-old Andres Casas of Bridgeton.

Cops say Fonte was trapped in his vehicle and was extricated by the Mays Landing Fire Department. Fonte was taken to ARMC-City for evaluation; his injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The crash remains under investigation and motor vehicle charges are pending.
