Vineland Motorcyclist Killed in Saturday Morning Accident

A car-motorcycle accident just after 4AM Saturday in Vineland claimed the life of a 34-year-old man.

Vineland Police say the accident happened on West Landis Avenue near the Route 55 overpass.

According to police a motorcycle being driven by Eugene T. Kirby, 3rd, 34, of Franklin, "was traveling westbound on West Landis Avenue as it lost control on the inside lane of travel by the curbed median." Police say Kirby was thrown off the bike and was struck by a vehicle driven by Debra Knowles, 38, of Vineland, who was also traveling westbound.

Kirby was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say no charges have been filed and the investigation in ongoing.
