Congratulations to Atlantic City's Maddie Taggart who took home last week's 97.3 ESPN High School Athlete of the Week honors.

This week, we have a fresh batch of local student-athletes who have proven themselves worthy on their respective fields.

Matt Tepedino, Baseball, Mainland Regional - The senior pitcher helped secure a spot in the South Jersey finals for the first time in 11 years by tossing a two-hitter in semifinal action against Hammonton. He struck out seven batters.

Quinn Bithell, Track & Field, Lower Cape May - The sophomore shattered a school record on her way to the South Jersey Group II high jump title. She announced herself as a premier underclassman with top-five finishes in three other championship events.

Joe Gatto, Baseball, St. Augustine Prep - The senior continued a strong season-ending stretch by tossing a three-hit gem in a 3-0 victory over Immaculata in the Non-Public South A quarterfinal. It was Gatto's fourth straight complete game.

Jackie DeLong, Softball, Wildwood Catholic - She starred for the 11th-seeded Crusaders as the team advanced to its first South Jersey Non-Public B semifinal with a 4-2 victory over St. Rose. She was the winning pitcher, scored the game's first run and tripled.

Dylan Jinks, Lacrosse, Southern Regional - The star junior scored a game-winning goal in overtime against Lenape to deliver the Rams to a second straight South Jersey Group IV title. He tallied five goals and four assist in the 11-10 win, reaching 300 career points.
