JCPenney may be following in the footsteps of Macy's and Sears when it comes to closing some of its stores.

It's starting to look like closings are in the works for the company, according to a report from NJ.com. The retail giant has closed 81 stores since 2013 and even more make a closing list thanks to BizJournals.com.

JCPenney has 1,014 stores nationwide and 15 locations in the Garden State including Mays Landing, Rio Grande, Vineland, Cherry Hill, and Deptford. There is no word on when and which stores would be closing their doors. All locations are being looked at to see whether they can live up to the brand by the JCPenney CEO, according to the report.
