Authorities in Gloucester County say a Williamstown man died in a crash late last week.

Fatal Crash Reported in Monroe Township

According to the Monroe Township Police Department, its officers were called to the area of North Tuckahoe Road and Riley Street, not far from Cross Keys Airport, just before 2:00 Friday afternoon for a report of a single-vehicle crash.

An investigation determined that a 2016 Cadillac SRX that was being driven by an unidentified 65-year-old Williamstown man was traveling southbound on Tuckahoe Road when he crossed into the opposing lane, hit a curb, and eventually struck a tree.

Driver Pronounced Dead at Hospital

The driver was taken to Jefferson Hospital in Washington Township where he was pronounced dead about an hour later.

The collision is being investigated by Ofc. Frank Paulson of the Monroe Township Police Department's Traffic Safety Bureau. Any witnesses are asked to call (856) 728-9800.

Police were assisted at the scene by the Williamstown Fire Department, Gloucester County EMS, Inspira Hospital ALS, Cooper Health, and the Gloucester County Medical Examiner's Office.
