Favorite Restaurant Food Servers In The Atlantic City Area

Over the past month, we have chronicled the best restaurants, bars, taverns, bartenders in the Greater Atlantic City area.

Today, we have complied a list of the favorite restaurant food servers in the Atlantic City area.

Yesterday, Friday, June 9, 2023, our on-air listeners called-in and shared their “nominations” of their favorite restaurant food servers.

Just like with their favorite bartenders … the passion exhibited during their on-air phone calls was beautiful.

CAPRICCIO ITALIAN RESTAURANT- RESORTS CASINO HOTEL, ATLANTIC CITY

We begin here because Capriccio has been voted for three consecutive years (and 4 of the past 5 years) as the Best United States Casino Restaurant by USA TODAY's 10Best.com. Capriccio earned the #1 spot among all casino restaurants in the county and takes first place.

Their customer service approach is team oriented in nature. So, we will share multiple food servers who shine on a daily Gary’s as follows:

Robert, Carmen, Steve and Jamie.

TONY’S BALTIMORE GRILL, ATLANTIC CITY - FOOD SERVER, KAREN

Margie and I have nominated Karen for this list of great restaurant food servers.

When my wife Margie and I started dating 43 years ago, Tony's Baltimore Grill in Atlantic City, New Jersey was our favorite dining spot.

We went there often and many times our food server was Karen.

Incredibly, Karen still works at Tony's 43 years later ... whereby she has the most seniority at Tony's Baltimore Grill.

We were with Karen two weeks ago. She is still fabulous.

VENTURA’S GREEN HOUSE, MARGATE, NEW JERSEY - FOOD SERVER, ANDREW

Ed Kline nominated Andrew, who with the retirement of Kenny, is now the bartender at The Green House.

Ed shared that with Andrew as his server, “I don’t even have to place my order. Andrew knows what I want.”

JO JO’S - VENTNOR, NEW JERSEY - FOOD SERVER, JOANN

Johnnyboy Cavalieri nominated his Mother Joann, who was a popular food server at Jo Jo’s Restaurant in Ventnor, New Jersey.

Before closing, Jo Jo’s was there for decades, owned by different members of The Cannuscio Family.

Joann worked at Jo Jo’s in Ventnor for more than 35 years.

GIRASOLE RESTAURANT, ATLANTIC CITY

It’s a shame that we don’t have the actual name of the food server, but, it is a great story. Al (Listener) called in and said that they were dining at Girasole restaurant in Atlantic City and they ordered the steak and potatoes on the side.

The patron wanted ketchup, and the food server told him that he would be right back. For some reason, they did not have any catch-up. The food server left the restaurant and purchased a bottle of ketchup at a nearby store and brought it back for the customer.

this act took place about seven or eight years ago. Now, that’s customer service.

THE WASHINGTON INN & THE PIER HOUSE RESTAURANT, CAPE MAY CITY - FOOD SERVER, JAMES SHARPLEY

Dan Gudauskis nominated James Sharpley.

Dan mentioned the same talent that Ed Kline talked about … having a food server, who knows you so well that they know what United going to order before you even say it.

MUDHEN BREWING COMPANY, WILDWOOD - FOOD SERVER, DANIEL MILLER

Daniel’s Mother-in-Law called-in and nominated her son—in-law and described a hard-working, young man, who is a food server at MudHen’s in Wildwood, while working a full-time job in Atlantic City.

THE CRAB TRAP, SOMERS POINT

We can’t name a single server by name, yet, every single one we’ve ever had serve us, is exceptional and service minded.

Therefore, we are nominating the entire team.

We have never had a bad meal or bad service at The Crab Trap.

SMITH’S MARINA, THE CLAM BAR - FOOD SERVER, SHANNON

Husband Dennis nominated his wife Shannon, who has been an outstanding food server at The Clam Bar for the past 38 years.

This is the 50th season for The Clam Bar, with more to follow. Shannon has been there for most of it.

GREGORY’S RESTAURANT & BAR - FOOD SERVER, TERRI C.

Andrea Ayres nominated Terri C., who she described as an exceptional food server.

Terri C. also drives a school bus.

BEN’S BAR B-Q RESTAURANT, WEST ATLANTIC CITY - FOOD SERVER, THERESA

Listener John Dilk’s went back to the 1960’s and nominated a food server named Theresa.

John also mentioned that Theresa’s brother was a former Mainland Regional High School Football Coach.

I want to thank listener Bill Burns for sending me this great photo (above) of Ben’s Bar B-Q Restaurant. It’s an awesome throwback to this establishment that was located on Verona Boulevard.

WHITE HOUSE SUB SHOP, ATLANTIC CITY - FOOD SERVER, MARIA

Maria has worked at the White House sub shop in Atlantic City for more than 40 years. She works there in order to save money to take her six-seven grandchildren each year to Disney World.

That’s a beautiful love story.

THE 500 CLUB, ATLANTIC CITY - FOOD SERVER, NICKY “THE MOLE” NARDO

Nominated by Ken Cutugno in a most animated way, via his Goochamaniac Network.

ANGELONI’S II RESTAURANT & LOUNGE, ATLANTIC CITY - FOOD SERVER, VICTOR VESPOLI

Cutugno also nominate Day 1 (1981) food server Victor Vespoli.

DEE D’s, ABSECON - FOOD SERVER, DARLEEN LOMBARDOS

Kirk Conover nominated Darleen Lombardos, who is the Daughter of the legendary James Lombardos, known as “Jimmy The Greek.”

Darleen worked at Dee D’s in the 1970’s and 1980’s.

IVANA’S & NERO’S ATLANTIC CITY - FOOD SERVER, TONY ANDALORO

Tony Andaloro worked at both Ivana’s Restaurant and Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts and Nero’s after that.

Andaloro recently retired, and he knew his customer so well that he could make their restaurant food selections for them.

He had his own list of casino high rollers, who would only dine with him as their food server.

PIERRE’S PIZZA, MARGATE, NEW JERSEY - OWNER & FOOD SERVER, PIERRE

This establishment exist today under newer ownership at S. Washington Ave. in Margate.

The original owner, Pierre from the 1990s was nominated for his ownership style and the fact that he also served the food in his restaurant.

JO JO’S PIZZA & RESTAURANT, GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP - FOOD SERVER, DIANA MORRIS

Diana was nominated for her 30+ years of service working at Jo Jo’s.

Diana is known for providing excellence in customer service and has a great attention to detail.
