That's when Absecon Police say the 31-year-old man began to bang on the hood of the victim's car, attempt to enter the vehicle, and then throw rocks at it after his mission failed, 6abc.com reports.

Deshaun Washington of Mays Landing took off on foot following the attempted carjacking, but police were able to catch up to him in a nearby wooded area and take him into custody.

Washington is in trouble with the law now and faces multiple charges including first-degree carjacking and criminal mischief.

The victim was not physically hurt, but their vehicle sustained some damage from Washington throwing rocks at it, including a broken taillight, 6abc.com reports.

Psychologically, though, it must have been so scary and shocking in that moment for the victim after Washington came out of nowhere and tried to get into the car.

So, please make sure you lock YOUR OWN door when driving anywhere, just to be safe.
