15-year-old, Already in Custody, Now Charged With 2 Counts of Attempted Murder in Atlantic City, NJ
The Atlantic City Police Department says a 15-year-old boy, who was already in custody on an unrelated gun charge, is now facing two counts of attempted murder.
The criminal charges stem from a shooting on the 400 block of North New Jersey Avenue on the afternoon of December 16th where a 25-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, both from Atlantic City, were shot.
The victims were taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center-City Division for treatment.
An investigation conducted by detectives with the ACPD's Violent Crimes Unit identified a 15-year-old boy as an additional person involved in the shooting.
The juvenile was already in custody at Harborfields Juvenile Detention Center for an unrelated handgun possession charge that occurred on January 30th.
The unidentified teen has been charged with,
- 2 counts of attempted murder
- 2 counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon
- 2 counts of aggravated assault
- Conspiracy to commit murder
- Unlawful possession of a weapon
- Possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose
18-year-old Quadri Cooper of Atlantic City was also arrested in connection to these shootings in January. He is also facing two counts of attempted murder and other charges.
The juvenile remains in custody at Harborfields.
