35-year-old A.C. Woman Struck and Killed on Black Horse Pike in EHT

A fatal accident on the Black Horse Pike in Egg Harbor Township last night as an Atlantic City woman was struck and killed by a car.

Egg Harbor Township Police say the accident happened just before 9:30pm on the Black Horse Pike, east of English Creek Avenue, in the Cardiff section of the township.

Police report a car driven by Mary Beal, 82, of Egg Harbor Township, "was traveling westbound on the Black Horse Pike when it encountered a pedestrian, identified as Yoriana Alonso-Guzman, 35 years of age from Atlantic City, in the roadway. Ms. Beal's vehicle impacted Mrs. Alonso-Guzman, and as a result of the impact she sustained fatal injuries."

The accident remains under investigation.

Westbound lanes of the Black Horse Pike were closed for several hours in the area following the accident.
