As pet owners, we all want to bring our beloved pets with us anywhere we go. Unfortunately, not every place is pet friendly and we have to leave poor Fido at home. But luckily, there are a few restaurants, beaches and parks that allow our four-legged friends to join us here in South Jersey!

    Absecon Lighthouse - Atlantic City, NJ

    The Absecon Lighthouse is extremely pet friendly and allows dogs on their two acre lawn and museum as long as they are leashed. What is even better is that parking and admission to the Keeper’s House Museum, Exhibits, Gift Shop, and Grounds are free! The lighthouse does have climbing fees which can be seen on their website along with hours of operation. It’s located at 31 S. Rhode Island Ave, Atlantic City, NJ.

    Barnegat Lighthouse - Long Beach Island, NJ

    Enjoy the beautiful views here at the Barnegat Lighthouse! According to new-jersey-leisure-guide.com, four-legged friends are allowed on the park and beaches from August 16 to April 14. Dogs must be licensed, well-behaved, leashed, and owners must be able to have full control of their dogs and clean up after them. The lighthouse is located at Broadway and the Bay Barnegat Light, NJ.     Sunset Beach Shops & Beach - Cape May Point, NJ

    Come shop, dine, and take a stroll on Sunset Beach! All three stores are pet friendly, the Grill provides a pet friendly lower deck for dining, and pets are allowed on the beach from September 16th to March 30th (must be leashed and cleaned up after).     Wildwood Dog Beach - Wildwood, NJ

    The Wildwood Dog Beach is not only a perfect summer spot, but an all year round place to go with your furry companion! You can’t miss it since it has a 25 foot high fire hydrant sculpture. What’s great is that the beach provides fresh water and doggie clean-up bags. Hours of operation are every day from 6am to dusk, and dogs must remain on their leashes.     Cape May Dog Park - Cape May, NJ

    Bring Fido over to the Cape May Dog Park to mingle with other four-legged friends! License fees are as follows: $20 for seasonal, and $10 for weekly. Applications can be printed from the website or picked up at the Cape May City Clerk’s Office along with the park tags. The dog park is located at 705 Lafayette Street, Cape May, NJ.     Island Beach State Park - Seaside Park, NJ

    If you’re looking to enjoy nature with your precious pooch, bring them to the Island Beach State Park! Enjoy the many trails the state park has to offer. Dogs must be kept on a leash that is no more than 6 feet long, and they are not allowed on the beach during the summer season, or the Spizzle Creek Bird Blind Trail at any time of the year. It is advised to check your beloved pet for ticks after walking on the trails. The park is located at Route 35, Seaside Park, NJ. Check them out here!
