School bus crash in Gloucester County

A 9-year-old boy has been injured in an accident involving two school buses in Gloucester County Thursday morning.

The Franklin Township Police Department says the crash happened at Taylor Road and Reed Avenue and involved two buses from the Township of Franklin School District.

Preliminary details released by police say a 9-year-old boy was injured and taken to a local hospital. His parents have been notified and are currently with him.

No other students were injured on either bus, and school officials are on the scene notifying parents. Those students will be taken to their respective schools.

As of 9:45 Thursday morning, police are still at the scene investigating the accident and they will release more information when it becomes available.

These are the schools in New Jersey with the highest rates of violence. The rankings are based on the annual School Performance Reports for the 2021-22 school year. New Jersey 101.5 ranked the schools based on the rate of reported violent incidents per 100 students. Schools with enrolment less than 100 are excluded.
