Atlantic City Board of Education Member John Devlin Blows The Whistle
CONFIRMED: ATLANTIC CITY BOARD OF EDUCATION IS UNDER GRAND JURY SUBPOENA
Atlantic City Board of Education Member John Devlin has had enough and he’s “blowing the whistle” to WPGTalkRadio.com and WPG Talk Radio 95.5
Devlin, who is a former long-time Atlantic City Board of Education President and Atlantic City Police Officer (retired) will further “spill the beans” on today’s (Wednesday, July 21, 2021) “Hurley in the Morning” program at 8:05 a.m.
Deviin is concerned that the Atlantic City Board of Education has terminated a nationwide superintendent search ”and now Shay Steele (who is conflicted) is gonna do a superintendent search “in house” with a hand picked committee of his choosing,” said Devlin.
”This totally violates every ethical code in the business,”said Devlin.
The “conflict” that Devlin is referring to is that Steele’s spouse is an ACBOE employee.
When a board member has a such a conflict of interest they’re very limited in terms of what they are permitted to directly participate in regarding board of education business.
“When a conflicted board president makes these types of decisions, we as a board are walking down a path of unrighteousness,” said Devlin.
Devlin also confirmed that our board has been issued a grand jury subpoena … we’re being investigated by the political corruption unit,” said Devlin.
Devlin is not just blowing hot air … he is preparing to take action.
”This has never happened in the history of the board … it’s unethical and unlawful. I will be submitting and complaint to the board of ethics,” said Devlin.
Devlin has also revealed that $ 25,000 on a nationwide superintendent search has now been wasted.
Many believe that there is a blatant local political agenda behind the termination of a true nationwide search for a Superintendent.
Time will tell all, but, the suspicion is that the intended goal is to place Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small’s wife, Dr. La’Quetta Small as the next Atlantic City Superintendent of Public Schools.
Small is presently the principal of Atlantic City High School.
Small’s educational credentials are as follows:
Doctorate in Education from Rowan University (2010).
Masters Degree from Kean University (2003).
BA/BS Stockton University (1999).
Central High School, Newark, New Jersey (1994) Valedictorian of her class.
“Not only has board president Steele terminated the search … now he is terminating a Request for Proposal for a new vendor, said Devlin.
“Steele is hand-selecting a committee to do an in-house superintendent search. This violates every ethical law in the land!” No way a conflicted member (Steele) can be involved so much!,” concluded Devlin.
