This doesn’t get said enough!
The Atlantic City Professional Firefighters are absolute, bonafide heroes.
On Thursday, February 8, 2024, a total team effort was responsible for saving the lives of two people, who they rescued out of a third floor window.
Today’s fire was battled during the 5:00 p.m. hour at 1510 Belfield Avenue, Atlantic City, New Jersey.
It should be noted that two engine companies are closed today in Atlantic City. One of them has been closed for a substantial period of time.
The following fire companies and apparatus successfully battled today’s blaze:
- Engine 3
- Engine 1
- Engine 2
- Ladder 1
- Ladder 2
- Rescue 1
- Engine 6
This act of heroism follows our recent published report about how the Atlantic City Fire Department regarding how short staffed … and, how their retirement wages have been disgracefully frozen for the past 13 years … and, their medical health benefits have been bungled for more than a year.
We have obtained these exclusive photos from today’s working fire, taken in real time:
You can see the bravery of the Atlantic City Firefighters making the aerial rescue, whereby they literally saved the lives of two trapped people.
It is time for the City of Atlantic City and the state of New Jersey to come together and fix the staffing, wage and medical health benefits issues without further delay.
Vincent “Skip” Granese is a retired Atlantic City Deputy Fire Chief, who has been retained by the state of New Jersey to conduct a wide-ranging, total operational review of the Atlantic City Fire Department.
Granese has successfully assisted several different fire departments around the state in the past.
