The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office has criminally charged an Atlantic City, New Jersey youth worker, Tyrell Jones with two serious criminal offenses:

  • Second-Degree Official Misconduct.
  • Second-Degree knowingly provide an electronic communication device to a person confined in a County Juvenile Detention Facility.

Jones is a youth worker at the Harborfields detention facility.

About these charges, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office said:

In 2023, the Juvenile Justice Commission provided information to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office concerning Jones supplying contraband to detained juvenile residents. During the investigation, Jones was found to have provided detained Harborfields juvenile residents access to his personal cell phone, a contraband device. This case was investigated by the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office Professional Standards and Accountability Unit, said the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Offuce.
