Police in Bridgeton continue their investigation after they say a man was shot in the leg at an apartment complex Thursday night.

According to authorities, officers responded to the Amity Heights Apartments off of Pamphylia Road around 9:30 Thursday night. Police say as they arrived on-scene, a car quickly left the area and drove to Inspira Health Center where officers caught-up with the driver. Cops were told the passenger had been shot in the leg.

An investigation revealed that as the victim was driving through the Burlington Manor Apartments, another vehicle approached and began firing, striking the victim in the knee. The shooting victim then drove to the Amity Heights Apartments where he was then taken to the hospital for treatment.

A press release did not indicate the man's condition nor if he had been released from the hospital. A motive for the shooting was also not provided.
