Cape May County Reports Two New COVID-Related Deaths Thursday
Officials with the Cape May County Department of Health are reporting that a 63-year-old woman from Woodbine and a 93-year-old woman from Lower Township have passed away due to the coronavirus.
Currently, the total cases of COVID-19 are now 190 with a total of 12 deaths in Cape May County. 18 have recovered from the virus.
The Cape May County Herald reports the 63-year-old woman who died is the youngest person to succumb to the virus in the county.
In a press release, Freeholder Jeff Pierson said, "Our hearts are heavy with the loss of two residents of Cape May County to COVID-19. The thoughts and prayers are with the families during this difficult time. I continue to urge all residents to protect their health and the health of others, especially older individuals and those with chronic health conditions who are most at risk. We all have a role to play in limiting the spread of this virus."
