Counter Rally Set To Support Migrants Coming To Atlantic City
Last week, key Republicans and Democrats came together to oppose United States President Joe Biden’s scheme to potentially bring migrants from New York City to the Atlantic City International Airport.
United States Congressman Jeff Van Drew, New Jersey Senator Vince Polistina, New Jersey Assemblypersons Don Guardian and Claire Swift, Atlantic County Executive Dennis Levinson, Atlantic County Commissioners Andrew Parker and Ernest Coursey, Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small … along with countless others all gathered last Friday in Atlantic City to oppose the plan.
New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy did not attend the gathering, however, he also unambiguously opposes the plan.
Further, President Biden did not discuss this political scheme with Governor Murphy in advance of his (Biden’s) announcement last week that the Atlantic City International Airport would be one of 11 sites where New York City migrants may be sent.
New York City has hit the breaking point and both New York City Eric Adams and New York State Governor Kathy Hochul are now openly and publicly critical of President Biden’s mismanagement of the border and the current migrant invasion into New York City and America.
Look at the graphic below. At the top, it lists all of the organizations that are supporting today’s rally in Atlantic City.
It should be noted, that South Jersey’s largest union, UNITE-HERE Local 54 is supporting the rally.
Not known, would the immediate past, long-time Local 54 President Bob McDevitt have supported this rally today?
Donna DiCaprio, a very talented leader is the new Local 54 President and she is supporting today’s rally.
This morning’s event is being titled:
STAND UP AGAINST HATE … STAND WITH IMMIGRANTS!
They further go on to publish some very inflammatory language, saying:
“Join local and state Latino and Immigrant Justice organizations, community members as they denounce and protest against the hateful xenophobic and anti-immigrant rhetoric espoused by elected officials last week in Atlantic City, NJ.”
This language is regrettable and not factually accurate.
From Congressman Van Drew, Governor Murphy, Senator Polistina, Assemblypersons Guardian and Swift County Executive Levinson, Commissioners Parker and Coursey, Mayor Small and so many other responsible leaders … not one of them is xenophobic, a hater, or anti-immigrant.
Here are today’s rally event details:
