The 2017 draft class will be one to forget for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Running back Donnel Pumphrey was expected to provide a shot in the arm to the backfield as a change-up runner, while wide receivers Mack Hollins and Shelton Gibson were both lauded for their speed and ability to separate.

Pumphrey never appeared in an NFL game, and Hollins and Gibson combined for 29 receptions for 410 yards and a touchdown over three seasons.

Elijah Qualls, an undersized defensive tackle selected in the sixth-round, appeared in six games -- all in 2017 -- and has just four tackles on his resume.

On Saturday, cornerbacks Sidney Jones and Rasul Douglas were handed their walking papers.

Jones, the team's second-round selection, essentially spent his rookie season rehabbing from a pre-draft Achilles injury but could never live up to expectations. The 24-year-old battled injuries and inconsistency throughout his Eagles' tenure. Despite being given every opportunity to earn Jim Schwartz's trust, Jones struggled with mental lapses and reliability. He was given a final chance to earn a starting spot this summer, but the competition never materialized, as Maddox won the No. 2 job running away.

Jones appeared in 22 games (four starts) for the Eagles, registering 50 tackles (three for loss), ten passes defended, and two interceptions.

Douglas, taken in the third-round, always seemed to be in Schwartz' doghouse for one reason or another. A big-bodied cornerback, his impressive moments were often overshadowed by his frequent blunders and coverage lapses. Douglas is a strong special teams performer and still young (25), so he should resurface on another team's roster this weekend.

Douglas appeared in 46 games (18 starts), producing 118 tackles (nine for loss), 25 passes defended, and five interceptions in three seasons.

Fast forward to the 2019 NFL Draft, where former Penn State pass rusher Shareef Miller was selected in the fourth-round. Miller, an undersized pass rusher that needed time to develop, never made the second-year leap that many expected. In training camp, he was overshadowed by Joe Ostman and Casey Toohill.

Miller appeared in one game as a rookie, playing two snaps on special teams.

All three players are subject to waivers.
