Egg Harbor City, N.J. — An Atlantic County man is headed to prison for sharing child porn images online.

On Tuesday, 47-year-old Mark Hacker of Egg Harbor City was sentenced to four years in state prison, parole supervision for life, and Megan's Law registration on charges of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child / distribution of child sexual assault material (CSAM).

Cyber Tip Sparked Investigation

The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said on September 11th, 2023, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a cyber tip from the KIK messenger application about one file that was uploaded of a young girl being sexually exploited or abused.

Local investigators received that information and traced the KIK account that uploaded that file back to Hacker.

Upon further investigation, investigators found the defendant shared 10 other media files on KIK which also depicted juvenile females being sexually exploited or abused. Investigators recovered a cellular phone from the defendant which contained the KIK application. The files defendant shared were not recovered from any of his devices.
