Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey

The Egg Harbor Township Police Department has confirmed that a fatal motor vehicle crash occurred on Saturday, June 1, 2024.

The motor vehicle crash occurred at the intersection of West Jersey Avenue and Cates Road in Egg Harbor Township.

As per the Egg Harbor Township Police Department:

A 2003 Honda motorcycle, driven by Jeremiah Saint Surin (19 year old male from Mays Landing), was driving eastbound on West Jersey Avenue approaching the intersection of Cates Road. A 2021 Ford Explorer, driven by Germain Rahn (38 year old female from Egg Harbor Township), was stopped northbound on Cates Road at the stop sign waiting to cross over West Jersey Avenue. The Ford entered into the intersection and was struck on the driver side at a right-angle by the motorcycle.

As a result, the Egg Harbor Township Police has confirmed that:

“Mr. Saint Surin suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to AtlantiCare Regional City Division by Egg Harbor Township EMS. He was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital by the medical personnel providing care. Ms. Rahn had minor injuries from the airbag deployment and there were no other injuries reported by the other occupants in her vehicle,” said the Egg Harbor Township Police Department.

This crash is being investigated by Egg Harbor Township Police Officers Joseph Ricevuto, Robert Moran, and Sergeant Ed Stearns, from the Traffic Safety Unit.

The investigation continues and it shut down traffic fir about 4 hours yesterday, while the scene was being investigated and cleared.
