On Monday night, firefighters responded to a two-alarm fire that damaged a home in Pleasantville.

According to Fire Chief Steve Wilkins, the call was made to the fire department at about 8:37 PM. The crew arrived to the first floor of the single-story home, at Milan and Chestnut Streets, engulfed in flames. Wilkins went on to say that the crew worked quickly to dispose of the flames and by 8:59 PM the fire was under control and extinguished.

The Atlantic City Airport, West Atlantic City, and Northfield Fire Departments aided the seven members of the Pleasantville Fire Department that were on-scene.

The sole person who was living in the building was uninjured and Chief Wilkins said the Red Cross was notified for placement.

How the fire started is under investigation.
