Former News 12 New Jersey Meteorologist Lands in Philly
In what may be described as the Circle of Life of television newspeople, in the past few weeks we said goodbye to one news anchor and welcomed someone new...sort of.
Last week, we reported the departure of CBS 3 News anchor Jessica Kartalija.
Jessica, a six-year veteran of the station was unceremoniously released from her position as the co-anchor, alongside Ukee Washington, of the station's weekday 5 pm, 6 pm, and 11 pm evening newscasts.
As one anchor is tossed, another anchor is brought in at crosstown NBC10
According to a Facebook post by Meteorologist Justin Godynick, former News12 Meteorologist James Gregorio has been brought in to perform weekend weather duties.
Gregorio's first appearance on the station was Sunday morning during the 5 am newscast.
Who is Meteorologist James Gregorio?
James Gregorio is no stranger to television viewers in New Jersey.
He was the longtime Meteorologist for News 12 New Jersey, a channel that focuses on events in the Northern part of New Jersey.
He was one of 12 personalities who were fired last October when the station made massive cuts to its staff.
Gregorio is a 2 time Edward R. Murrow Award winner. Emmy Award winner.
Fans of Gregario have flooded his Facebook page with congratulatory messages,
James Gregorio joins another News 12 castoff, Justin Godynick. Justin began his career at News 12 New Jersey before departing for the NBC Boston affiliate.
He joined NBC10 last June. Justin was also seen in South Jersey on the now defunct, NBC 40.
