Franklin Twp., NJ, Police: Man Assaulted, Robbed After Wawa Visit; Teen Arrested
Authorities in Franklin Township, Gloucester County, say one person has been arrested after a man was assaulted and robbed following a visit to a Wawa store earlier this month.
Officers responded to the CVS in the Malaga section of the township around 10:45 Sunday night, June 11th, for a report of a man who was disoriented and suffering a head injury.
It was later discovered that the male had been shopping inside of the Malaga Wawa when he was confronted by a group of unknown male subjects. One male who was identified as Sebastian Gonzalez, 18, of Vineland is accused of assaulting the victim and stealing his recently purchased items.
Police say the group fled the area in a silver-colored Acura.
Detectives were able to locate Gonzalez at his home in the 1100 block of Fairmount Avenue in Vineland last Friday.
He was taken into custody and charged with robbery and simple assault. He was released pending an appearance in superior court.
The public is reminded that charges are accusations and all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
