We begin with our usual disclaimer. We don’t anyone to get sick or die from COVID-19.

However, the Atlantic County region continues to do a great job of keeping the number of cases way down, especially when considering the many states that are currently dealing with huge spikes.

On Saturday, July 18, 2030, Atlantic County health officials confirmed 18 more residents have tested positive for Covid-19. They include seven men, ages 26-77, and 11 women, ages 29-75.

More good news. For the second consecutive day, no additional deaths were reported.

From today’s public release: “Several communities had one new positive: Buena Vista Township, Egg Harbor City, Egg Harbor Township, Folsom Galloway, Hamilton Township and Margate. This brings the countywide total to 3,217 residents confirmed positive, of whom 1,819 have been cleared as recovered. Covid-19 has claimed the lives of 224 county residents.”

Today’s update continues: “Atlantic County will continue to provide Covid-19 testing at its drive-thru facility in Northfield at Rt. 9 and Dolphin Avenue, behind the county public works yard. The test site is now available for both symptomatic and asymptomatic county residents with or without a doctor’s prescription. Residents must make an appointment for testing and provide proof of county residency and appointment confirmation.”
