Hey NJ; Big Box Of Cereal Is less Than 1/2 Full: America is Broken

I am basically a “creature of habit.” I like what I like and I stick with it.

Monday through Friday, I have a routine that I have followed for more than 30 years.

I eat the same cereal and have V-8 every week day, a few hours before airtime.

I splurge on the weekends and mix my diet up and we eat a variety of different things.

I have purchased the same cereal from the same big box store since 1992.

It’s the biggest cereal box made, with two large separately packed bags of cereal in each box.

It has always been a great buy.

Today, this what I encountered. Look at these two bags of unopened cereal.

There’s no “slight of hand” here, this is exactly what I purchased. One of the bags is about 1/2 full and the other appears to be less than 1/2 full.

Note, I’m not mentioning the company or the particular brand. That’s not the point.

My point is a larger one. We’re getting ripped off each and every day in both big and small ways.

No doubt you’ve encountered similar things with bags of chips and other products.

Remember when “they” used to say, “Some settling may occur during shipping.”

That’s hilarious, isn’t it?

I don’t typically complain about the little things in life. Life is too short. I usually save my passion for the meaningful, big things in life.

However, I submit to you that this is a case study in just how broken our country is at the present time.

There’s less product in each package and we are paying substantially higher prices.

At the present time, our country appears to be broken in just about every measurable way.
