While most of us know that heart disease is the number one cause of death in men and women, many of us may not know all the factors that affect the health of our heart. The American Heart Association has created a list of seven ways to improve our cardiovascular health.

They are get active, control cholesterol, eat better, manage blood pressure, lose weight, reduce blood sugar and stop smoking. These steps all of one thing in common, anyone can make these changes. They are not expensive to do and even small improvements can make a big difference.  To assess your heart health and move closer to your personal health goals, the American Heart Association has created a simple online quiz called My Life Check - Life’s Simple 7 Success Plan. It is great way to see where you are doing well and where you need improvement.
