Former New Jersey Assemblyman Sam Fiocchi has formally filed and he will be competing for the Republican Nomination (House of Representatives- New Jersey - District 2).

The other Republicans who have filed are:
- Hirsh Vardhan Singh
- Robert Turkavage
- Brian T. Fitzherbert
- Seth Grossman
Republicans will now commence with a campaign that will burn cash and potentially each other in effigy.
Van Drew has dominated the Democratic Convention season, winning all eight County endorsements.
On the Republican side, Singh won 4, and James Toto, Fitzherbert, Turkavage and Fiocchi each won endorsements.
Toto left the race and has thrown his support to Singh on the floor of The Atlantic County Republican Convention.

The General Election is Tuesday, November 6, 2018, when District 2 will elect only its 3rd United States Congressman in nearly 50 years.
