75-year-old woman killed in hit-and-run on I-295, New Jersey troopers ask for help
State troopers are asking for help from the public as they investigate a fatal hit-and-run accident on Interstate 295 in Burlington County.
Yvrose Germain of Willingboro, NJ, Killed
The incident happened this past Sunday morning, March 17th, on the northbound side of the busy highway in Burlington Township.
"Unknown vehicle"
Based on an investigation at the scene, detectives determined that at approximately 8:15 a.m., a possible midsize vehicle or pickup truck was traveling northbound on I-295. In the area of milepost 46.8, Yvrose Germain, a 75-year-old female of Willingboro, N.J., was struck by an unknown vehicle.
As a result of the crash, Germain sustained fatal injuries.
Milepost 46.8 is near the Elbow Road overpass, just before Exit 47 for County Route 541 for Burlington / Mt. Holly.
Originally Reported Missing
Willingboro police had initially posted on their Facebook page that Germain was missing from her home in the Somerset Park section of Willingboro Township. She had dementia, according to officials.
"We extend our deepest condolences to her friends, family, and loved ones during this difficult time," police wrote.
