4 South Jersey Walmart Stores Getting Major Upgrades
Walmart has plans to remodel 12 New Jersey stores in 2026, 4 of which are in Atlantic, Cumberland, and Lower Ocean counties.
Walmart, the nation’s largest retailer, announced the plans last week, saying it's a part of ongoing efforts to improve the in-store and online shopping experience.
Nationally, Walmart is planning remodels at more than 650 Supercenters this year.
Walmart said it has invested more than $173 million to upgrade stores throughout New Jersey over the past five years. In 2025, Walmart stores in Bridgeton and Vineland were remodeled.
Hammonton Walmart Scheduled for Re-Opening
Walmart’s Pennsville store reopened Friday as part of the retailer’s yearlong plan to remodel 12 New Jersey locations.
The Hammonton Walmart at 55 South White Horse Pike is set to become the first of four local stores to finish with its remodel, with a late-summer finish expected.
Like the other three stores being remodeled locally, the Hammonton store is staying open during the remodeling, redoing small parts of the store one at a time.
Other South Jersey Walmarts Being Remodeled
The local Walmart stores being remodeled are the Lanoka Harbor store at 580 US Highway 9, the Little Egg Harbor store at 631 Route 9 South, and the Millville store at 2291 North 2nd Street.
The 7 other New Jersey Walmarts selected for remodeling are in Cinnaminson, Flemington, Hamilton, Mercer County, Old Bridge, Riverdale, and Union.
Our stores have long been part of communities across New Jersey, and we’re excited to keep investing in their future,” said Annie Walker, senior vice president, East Business Unit at Walmart.
“By improving our stores, we’re making shopping faster, easier, and more convenient, all while empowering our teams to serve customers better and creating local opportunity. We’re proud of our legacy here and look forward to helping families save money, time, and live better every day.”
