South Jersey and Atlantic County will be represented at Wrigley Field in Chicago on Monday night. Mainland Regional High School graduate Chase Petty will be called up by the Reds to pitch against the Cubs.

It will likely be just one start for Petty with Nick Lodolo slated to rejoin the Reds’ rotation on Friday.

The 2021 first-round pick by the Minnesota Twins made his Major League debut on April 29 for the Reds last season, making three starts for Cincinnati.

He is now in his sixth professional season and is 20-28 with a 4.24 ERA, 1.34 WHIP in 445.2 innings pitched. Petty was drafted 26th overall by the Twins and was traded to the Reds before the 2022 season in exchange for Sonny Gray.
