Man Charged For Allegedly Killing His Wife in Willingboro, NJ
A 60-year-old Willingboro man has been charged for allegedly fatally stabbing his wife last week inside their home.
Stanley Martin of the first block of Hinsdale Lane is facing first-degree murder and weapon-related charges.
Authorities with the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office says just before 1 AM on Saturday, January 13th, officers with the Westampton Township Police Department were called to a Wawa store on Springside Road for a report of a man who was threatening employees.
That man, who was later identified as Martin, left the store prior to police arriving. He was located about an hour later outside of a store that closed in Willingboro and taken into custody.
Information obtained during the apprehension led to a wellness check at his residence, where Willingboro Township police officers discovered the body of Dierdra Martin, 56.
An autopsy performed by the Burlington County Medical Examiner determined Dierdra Martin died from multiple stab wounds.
This homicide investigation is being conducted by the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office along with the Willingboro and Westampton Township Police Departments.
Martin is being held in the Burlington County Jail in Mount Holly pending a detention hearing next week in Superior Court.
The public is reminded that charges are accusations and all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
