
Man Charged for Drugs, Weapons After Search of Absecon Hotel Room
A Jackson Township man was arrested Wednesday after a search of his Absecon hotel room and an Ocean County storage facility uncovered drugs, drug dealing tools and handguns with high capacity magazines.
According to the Stafford Township Police, Cory Winston, 30, of Jackson Township, resisted arrest and fought with officers, injuring several detectives.

Police in a multijurisdictional narcotics investigation that originated in Stafford Township and led into Brick Township, and Absecon found Winston in possession of heroin, cocaine, “Molly” aka MDMA, prescription pills, digital scales and various other drug paraphernalia for drug distribution. He also had a 9mm and .40 caliber handguns with high capacity magazines with him.
The injured detectives were treated for minor injuries.
Winston was transported to Brick Township Police Department for processing. After processing, Winston was charged and transported to the Ocean County Jail.
Winston was charged with 14 offenses including multiple drug and weapons charges, resisting arrest, assaulting a police officer, and various drug distribution charges.
According to a Facebook post from Stafford Township Police, the Stafford Township Police Department’s Drug Enforcement Unit and the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Strike Force were assisted during the investigation by the Barnegat Township Crime Reduction Unit, Absecon Police Department, Atlantic County Narcotic Strike Force, Brick Township Police Department and the Stafford Township K-9 Unit.
