
Man Killed Walking Along Black Horse Pike in Pleasantville
Pleasantville, N.J. — A pedestrian was killed while he was walking along the Black Horse Pike last Friday night.
The Pleasantville Police Department said the accident happened around 9:15 PM in the area of Lyons Court.
According to authorities, 42-year-old Meghan Scanlon of Atlantic City was driving eastbound on the Black Horse Pike approaching Lyons Court when she struck 34-year-old Patrick Pollard of Absecon, who was walking near the intersection.
Pollard succumbed to his injuries, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Scanlon and her passenger remained at the scene, and they were not injured.
That section of the Black Horse Pike was closed for approximately 3 hours while the scene was cleared.
The accident remains under investigation, and there have been no summonses issued.
