This past September, 27-year-old Hunter Roy of Maple Shade pleaded guilty to second-degree endangering the welfare of a child and fourth-degree cruelty to animals charges. Late last week, he was sentenced to six years behind bars as part of a plea agreement.
Investigation Began After Tip
The Burlington County Prosecutor's Office says their case began in May 2025 when they received information from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children concerning Roy's online activities.
According to authorities, Roy distributed more than 9,000 files depicting the sexual exploitation or abuse of a child, and he was communicating sexually with an underage boy to whom he sent files containing child sexual abuse material.
Officials also learned that he made recordings of himself engaging in sexual acts with a Rottweiler as well as with another dog, then traded them online for videos of others having sex with dogs.
Multiple Agencies Assisted in Investigation
Roy was prosecuted by Assistant Prosecutor Stephen Eife, supervisor of the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office's Special Victims Unit. The investigation was conducted by that office, with assistance from the Maple Shade and Union Beach Police Departments, and United States Homeland Security Investigations–Cherry Hill.
