Rutgers University Police Chief Kenneth Cop has announced that there are presently three separate armed robbery investigations being conducted for incidents that occurred near the New Brunswick Campus.

FIRST INCIDENT:

Took place Thursday, March 3, 2022, at approximately 1:04 a.m., near Hartwell Street and Hamilton Street.

Cops have confirmed that the victims are affiliated with Rutgers University. The victims were approached by four males, one was visibly in possession of a gun.

According to Cop, the suspects took items from the victims. The suspects left the crime scene in a silver SUV.

SECOND INCIDENT:

Almost immediately followed at about 1:21 a.m., near Delafield Street and Courtland Street.

This time, it was three suspects, one with a gun. A single victim, also affiliated with Rutgers University was punched in the face. No items were stolen.

According to Cop, the three males drive away in an older gray SUV.

THIRD INCIDENT:

Took place just minutes later at approximately 1:29 a.m. near Prospect Street and Somerset Street.

One victim, not identified with Rutgers University faced two perpetrators, one was holding a knife. They got away with several items and left the crime scene on foot.

Chief Cop confirmed that this victim was not injured during the robbery.
