Mays Landing, NJ, Man Charged With Possessing Destructive Devices

A man from Mays Landing has been charged with possessing destructive devices.

U.S. Attorney Philip Sellinger's office says 31-year-old Robert J. Moser is expected to appear in Camden federal court on Tuesday.

According to authorities, on March 17th, officers responded to Moser's home after they received a 9-1-1 call that he was unconscious after a possible drug overdose.

One of the officers who responded to assist Moser in his bedroom observed in plain view numerous suspicious devices covered in tape with exposed fuses.

Officials allegedly recovered at least two destructive devices, one containing explosive powder, metal ball bearings, and metal eye hooks; a second had explosive powder and metal dart tips.

If convicted, the one count of possessing a destructive device that Moser is facing could put him behind bars for up to a decade with a $250,000 fine.

Sellinger thanked agents of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms; the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office; and the Hamilton Township and Atlantic City Police Departments for their work in this case.

The public is reminded that charges are accusations and all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
