Spirit Halloween Cancels Egg Harbor Twp. Grand Opening Event

Halloween lovers are going to be disappointed to hear this news from Spirit Halloween.

The Egg Harbor Township store, Spirit Halloween's flagship location, in the Harbor Square Mall on the Black Horse Pike in Egg Harbor Township, will not be holding its "Ultimate Spirit Halloween Experience" this year.

In a press release on Thursday, the Egg Harbor Township-based mega-Halloween store said that circumstances outside their control have made the opening day party impossible this year.

International disruptions and supply chain challenges have thrown a wrench in our opening plans. As a result, we are forced to cancel the Egg Harbor Township grand opening event- but we intend to bring this event back next year.

The Ultimate Spirit Halloween Experience

Having attended this massive grand opening last year, let me tell you how many Halloween fanatics are going to be thrown for a loop over this news.

The Ultimate Halloween Experience has turned into the highlight of the summer for Halloween heads from across the country and abroad.

Last year, over 1,500 people gathered on a hot, sunny early August day in the parking lot outside the Egg Harbor Township Spirit Halloween store.

People lined up by the hundreds to get some of the special opening-day Halloween swag giveaways, be the first to see the season's hot new costumes and animatronics, and to be a part of the scene.

Local hotels were booked solid, families planned their summer vacations around it, and people traveled to South Jersey from all over the world to be here for the grand opening day.

For several years, there has been a growing encampment of people in tents camping outside the store for days in advance.

I can honestly say I have never seen anything like it.

Spirit Halloween Is Opening For the Halloween Season

In their Facebook release about the grand opening event being canceled, Spirit Halloween was sure to add that the Spirit Halloween stores around the country will be open as usual for the Halloween season.

In the meantime, Spirit Halloween is still very much alive, with over 1,500 stores on track to open.

We will begin opening stores in mid-August for another killer season. The engines are on and we're full speed ahead. Stay tuned, the best is yet to come.
