The Steve Young hearing is back on.

A few weeks ago, we reported that the state of New Jersey intervened and demanded that the Steve Young agenda item be removed from the last Atlantic City Council meeting.

We have just confirmed that there will be a Special Meeting this Friday at 10:30 a.m.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the meeting will take place using digital technology, via a Zoom meeting process.

The hearing was initially requested by Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small, because of Young’s involvement with the violent riot that took place in Atlantic City on Memorial Day weekend, Sunday, May 31, 2020.

The hearing will afford Small the opportunity to present his request to City Council for Young to be removed from both the Atlantic City Planning and the City’s Citizen’s Advisory Committee.

Young will have an equal opportunity to present his case. In our last WPG Talk Radio 95.5 interview, Young promised to fight to keep his two appointed city (volunteer/unpaid) positions.

This Friday’s hearing is the first step in the process, which could lead to Young’s removal from both positions.
