
Teen Injured in Crash Involving Illegal Motorbike in South Jersey
A teenager in South Jersey was injured in an accident on Monday that involved a motorbike that was not street-legal.
Crash Reported on Ganttown Road
The Washington Township Police Department reports that they were called to Ganttown Road at The Clusters development at about 3:15 PM on Monday.
According to officials, a preliminary investigation determined that a 15-year-old operating a gas-powered motorbike, along with a friend riding an E-scooter, were traveling eastbound on Ganttown Road toward Route 42. As they rode along, they entered the path of a vehicle that was turning into The Clusters.
Teen Taken to Hospital With Wrist Injury
The juvenile on the motorbike, which was not street-legal, collided with that vehicle and he was taken to an area hospital for evaluation of a reported fractured wrist. Police say he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, which likely reduced the severity of his injuries.
Police Issue Warning to Parents
The department posted to Facebook,
This incident serves as an important reminder to parents that motorized minibikes and similar recreational vehicles are not permitted on public roadways, and operating them on busy roads creates serious safety risks for riders and motorists.
