New Jersey is the home of many famous celebrities, from musicians, entertainers, actors, directors and many more.

While declaring any one person the most famous or best in any endeavor is always subjective … I feel comfortable saying that the most famous Hollywood Filmmaker and director … lives in New Jersey.

I know that there is Alfred Hitchcock, George, Lucas, Martin, Scorsese, and many others to choose from.

I respect them all and love their work.

However, I’m referring to Steven Spielberg.

Spielberg’s body of work is remarkable and divides.

Spielberg lives on top of a hill, located near Princeton University. He has a majestic view of the New York City skyline from his home.

Here’s just a few of Spielberg’s accomplishments:

According to Forbes Magazine, Spielberg's net worth is 3.1 billion.

In 2006, the magazine Premiere listed Spielberg as the most powerful and influential figure in the motion picture industry.

Time Magazine named Spielberg listed as one of the 100 Most Important People of the Century.

Life Magazine named Spielberg as the most influential person of his generation … declaring this right at the end of the 20th century.

Spielberg’s career is storied and spans near 50 years.

Look at the variety of Spielberg’s work:

Much of his early work was sci-fi and adventure films, where Spielberg earned a reputation as the architect of the modern Hollywood blockbuster film.

Spielberg‘s later work address, profound issues such as:

  • The Holocaust
  • slavery
  • war
  • terrorism.

Then, of course there’s Jaws, Close Encounters of The Third Kind and Raiders of The Lost Ark to name a few.

Spielberg won the Academy Award for Best Director for 1993's Schindler's List and Saving Private Ryan in 1998.
