Top Atlantic County, NJ Law Man On Clemency for Attempted Cop Killer?

The Atlantic County, New Jersey Prosecutor has taken a formal public position regarding the clemency request from a convicted (multiple) attempted cop killer, Christopher Blank.

ATLANTIC COUNTY PROSECUTOR WILL REYNOLDS SAYS:

The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office stands united with our victim survivors and law enforcement community in strong opposition to this defendant's application for clemency. His actions in disarming an Egg Harbor Township Police Officer and then using that weapon to shoot her three times, subsequently shooting a second Officer, who was saved by his ballistic vest, and then shooting at the head of a third Officer, who fortunately was not struck, speaks to the horrific nature of this defendant's actions and his utter disregard of the lives of our law enforcement officers, said Reynolds.

CONVICTED BY A JUROR OF HIS PEERS

Reynolds further advised that Blank was convicted by an Atlantic County jury beyond a reasonable doubt and that Blank had furthered his available appeal options.

Reynolds also confirmed that there is no merit to Blank’s claims.

Given these facts it is clear the Executive Clemency Unit should deny this defendant's application outright. To do otherwise would undermine the core foundation of our criminal justice system,” said Reynolds.
