“Hurley in the Morning” has exclusively learned and confirmed that there will be a very important meeting tomorrow regarding COVID-19 federal funding for hospitals around the country.

United States Congressman Jeff Van Drew will be meeting with staff members of the United States Department of Health and Human Services.

The goal is to rectify the issues that have prevented Shore Medical Center, Cape Regional Medical Center, and others from receiving funds; while other hospitals, including AtlantiCare, have received millions of dollars.

As we revealed last week, hospitals from around the country have continued self-reporting to HHS, because their previously submitted numbers were deemed to be inaccurate.

I will provide a detailed update tomorrow regarding any progress that takes place at the previously mentioned meeting.

David Hughes, Shore Medical Center Sr. Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Development Officer has been a highly effective, lead point man regarding this critical financial issue.

Our local hospitals have lost millions of dollars in revenue during the COVID-19 pandemic.

They have all been faithfully compliant and shut down all of their non-coronavirus services.

This is a crisis and Hughes and Shore Medical Center have done a great job shining the light of truth on this issue.
