Here is some pertinent background of this matter at this time:

At a trial, whereby Zia was fighting for his political life, the trial took a totally unexpected turn.

Atlantic City Councilman Muhammad 'Anium' Zia was fighting for his elected position... as charges about his residency played out in an Atlantic County courtroom.

At this trial, back on June 19, 2024, Zia was criminally charged with:

2nd Degree threatening a witness.

3rd Degree witness tampering.

Naeem Kahn confirmed to me at the time, that he is the witness, who Zia stands accused of tampering with and threatening.

These are serious crimes that can jeopardize Zia's ability to remain in elective office.

Zia was taken out of the courtroom in handcuffs by the Atlantic County Sheriff's Department right after the second day of his trial.

Zia was released in June on a summons.

Zia was held for a few hours while the Atlantic County Sheriff's Department contacted the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.

Zia's residency has been called into question for years, as many have maintained that Zia lives in Egg Harbor Township and not Atlantic City.

We spoke with Atlantic County Sheriff Joe O'Donoghue, who confirmed at the time that Zia's arrest had occurred.

Well placed Atlantic City sources have advised that Zia has stated that he didn’t receive communications about his required court appearance.

Zia critics maintain that this is more proof that Zia “doesn’t live in Atlantic City, or, he would have received the written communication(s) at his “Atlantic City residence.”

The status regarding enforcement of the judicial arrest warrant for Zia is unknown at this time.

Developing.
