A popular chain of food stores has announced it is closing all of its locations in New Jersey and Pennsylvania in just a matter of days.

The good news is, however, that some of these locations will reopen under an even more popular name.

On Tuesday, Amazon announced it would be closing all 14 Amazon Go cashier-less convenience stores and more than 50 Amazon Fresh grocery stores across the country, including four in New Jersey and six in Pennsylvania.

The company wrote in a blog post, "While we've seen encouraging signals in our Amazon-branded physical grocery stores, we haven't yet created a truly distinctive customer experience with the right economic model needed for large-scale expansion."

What might just help with that large-scale expansion is the Whole Foods brand, which Amazon owns.

While not mentioning any specific locations, some of the Go and Fresh stores will be converted into Whole Foods supermarkets as part of over 100 new stores opening in the coming years.

Unconfirmed reports say these stores could close within the next few days.
